Are the kaala bags waterproof?

The outer material of the kaala bags and backpacks are impregnated with a 100% PVC-free coating. This ensures that the bags are water and dirt repellent.

How can I clean my bag?

You can simply wipe off light dirt with a damp, soft cloth. A light-coloured brush plus gall soap is very suitable for heavy soiling. You can scrub the bag thoroughly. The material won't mind. Please only dampen and do not soak completely. The bags are not suitable for the washing machine.

What laptop sizes is the laptop compartment designed for?

Our backpacks always have a padded laptop compartment with a soft inner lining.

Inki backpack: laptops up to 17’

Aimo backpack: laptops up to 15’

My new bag has a fault

All our products are handmade. Unfortunately, in rare cases, the product may have a small defect. Please send us a photo of the faulty area and your order number to mail@kaala.eu. We will send you a free return label for the faulty product and send you a new product at the same time.

My used bag has a fault

We offer a two-year guarantee on all our products. If your bag breaks during this time, we will repair it free of charge. If the bag breaks after the warranty period, we will of course also help you with the repair, but for a small fee (between 5-30 Euros). If you bought your bag online, please send us a photo and your order number or the email address you used when ordering to mail@kaala.eu.

Depending on the fault and when you bought the bag, we will either replace it with a new one or refund the repair costs. If you need any spare parts, please send us an email. If you bought the bag from another retailer, please contact them first.

Materials

All our fabrics are 100% recycled. Our outer material is made from 100% recycled nylon ("Mipan Regen"), which is made from waste generated during nylon production, our inner material is made from 100% recycled PET bottles, and our webbing is made from 100% recycled polypropylene.

kaala sees sustainability as a process that must be constantly renegotiated and driven forward. We realise that we cannot simply fast-forward to the perfectly environmentally friendly bag. We have to take and understand every single step. You can find more information about our materials and our path to greater sustainability here.

Production location

Our bags are produced in Ho Chi Min City in Vietnam. We work very closely with our producer and visit him at regular intervals. Many of you ask us - how does the topic of sustainability fit in with production in Asia? We have looked very closely at this issue and spoken to many different producers, including in Europe. Although it is possible to produce products like ours in Europe, all the materials and accessories needed for a high-quality and durable bag are produced in Asia. This is also where the professionals in terms of recycled textiles are based. We would first have to ship all the materials from Asia to Europe in order to have our bags produced here. After completion, the products would then have to be transported by lorry to the warehouses. In Asia itself, we have short distances and only have to ship the products to Europe once. The CO2 balance is actually better here. But this area is also constantly changing and developing. We stay on the ball to always find the most sustainable way for our products.
